The JANY Young Women's Leadership Conference (YWLC) was launched in May 2005. These conferences are designed to engage young women from New York City and Long Island high schools in a discussion of the challenges and opportunities concerning women in the workplace.
Business leaders from JANY partner companies participate as presenters and mentors to the young women. The conferences also aim to encourage young women to begin setting personal and financial goals for their futures. Through participation in breakout sessions and interactions with speakers and mentors, young women learn about the skills they will need to make their futures successful.
The following companies hosted Young Women's Leadership Conferences during the 2005-2006 school year: MetLife, Accenture, Reuters America, KeySpan, FedEx.
