JA Job Shadow & Youth Leadership Conferences

JA Job Shadow and JA New York Youth Leadership Conferences are experiential and exploratory workplace-based field trips for 8th-12th-graders.  Students visit a professional work environment and gain insights into finding and keeping a fulfilling career.

Step into the future.

Participating students:

  • Acquire and apply skills needed in a demanding and changing work environment
  • Learn to recognize career-clusters and potential opportunities
  • Begin to understand the importance of research, and
  • Develop job-hunting tools and skills such as networking, resumes, and interviewing experience.

We require three 45-minute, teacher-led classroom lessons (materials downloadable) and the Job Shadow visit itself, which is four to five hours in length.
