MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Junior Achievement has been proven effective for middle school and junior high school students in
reinforcing the value of education and how staying in school can help them succeed in life.
The middle school programs help pre-teens and teens make difficult decisions about how to best prepare
for the rest of their education and life. These programs help students understand how they can apply their
talents and interests to possible careers.
The programs supplement standard social studies curricula and also help students develop
communication skills that are essential to success. Sessions run for 45 minutes once per week, for 6—8
weeks.
MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMS INCLUDE:
- 7th & 8th Grade: Personal Economics (PE)
- Students assess their personal skills and interests, explore career options, and learn job-hunting skills. They also learn about budgets, personal and family financial management, and the stock market.
This program has been funded, in part, by a generous grant from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation.
- 6th—9th Grade: JA Global Marketplace
- Students learn practical information about what makes international trade work, and how it affects their
daily lives, by analyzing five key economic factors: international markets, cultural exchange, international
law, human resources, and flow of international capital.
This program has been funded, in part, by a generous grant from the JPMorgan Chase Foundation.
